The nation’s top distance runners and everyday runners alike will gather near the nation’s capital for the first annual .US National Road Racing Championships on Nov. 17, 2013, in Alexandria, Va.

The event will prominently feature competitive, recreational, and lifestyle/fitness runners from around the region and country, with USA Track & Field members receiving a $10 discount off the cost of registration. The race lineup includes a 12 km championship race, a masters 12 km championship race, a 12 km community race, 5 km family fun fun and ½-mile kids’ fun run.

USATF is proud to partner on the race with the Alexandria Police Foundation, which will serve as the community outreach liaison and volunteer recruiter, and with Alexandria-based Pacers Events, which is managing local planning, logistics and promotion. The Alexandria Police Foundation currently is raising funds to build a police memorial at police headquarters to honor officers who have given their lives to protect the community.

The .US National Road Racing Championships will be held virtually in the backyard of Neustar, an information and analytics company based in Northern Virginia that provides domain name registry services for the .US top level domain, the official country code for the United States.

Neustar provides critical infrastructure services and policy expertise for .US on behalf of the United States Department of Commerce.

The Alexandria Police Foundation, which will provide community outreach and recruiting, hopes to raise $15,000 from the race, which will go to the Alexandria Police Memorial Fund.
